Reimbursement of Applicant Costs

Ulster University is committed to supporting candidates throughout the recruitment and onboarding process. To help with costs, we offer a range of reimbursement schemes for candidates who live outside Northern Ireland.

Interview expenses

To support our sustainability goals and reduce our carbon footprint, Ulster University offers interviews via Microsoft Teams wherever possible. This approach helps minimise travel-related carbon emissions while maintaining an inclusive and accessible recruitment process for all candidates.

In instances where an in-person interview is required, Ulster University will meet the cost of reasonable travel expenses of applicants attending for interview. The university considers that for applicants travelling from a home address within Northern Ireland all of its campuses are within easy commuting distance and will not therefore reimburse any expenses related to travel from a home address within Northern Ireland.

Relocation and Immigration related costs

Ulster University is committed to supporting new employees who incur costs as a result of taking up employment with the University. The University provides reimbursement for removal expenses and the cost of visa and immigration health surcharge costs for new employees.
