Check if you need a UK visa
If an offer of employment is made to you in a case where the role meets the criteria for a Certificate of Sponsorship, the Ulster University Resourcing Compliance (Resourcing-Compliance@ulster.ac.uk) team will issue a Certificate of Sponsorship.
Some roles involving research in sensitive subject areas require nationals of some countries to apply for security clearance under the Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) as part of the Skilled Worker visa process.
If you are offered a role that does not meet the requirements for a Certificate of Sponsorship, you may be able to consider other visa options that do not require sponsorship or a job offer. Further information is available on the Home Office website.
Throughout your employment, you must maintain your right to work in the UK and co-operate with the University in providing evidence of your right to work in the UK when requested. If you change your immigration status, you must notify Resourcing Compliance (link to email) immediately to ensure your right to work records are accurately updated.
Once you have obtained your right to work in the UK documentation, you will be required to submit this to your Resourcing Executive Assistant as part of the pre-employment checks.
